The Visual Preference Survey results show very strong support for housing over retail and densely built neighborhoods, yet it also shows little aversion to having some single-family dwellings built. One resident remarked: “I think that there should be a variety of housing densities built on the base. Some should be single family like this picture shows and some should be much higher density possibly 5+ stories.” Others expressed their approval of neighborhoods shown resembling traditional Alameda ones: 

“Most in character with other Alameda  Neighborhoods” 

 “I like the set back, and the fact that it appears to be in a typical block of the kind found on most of the main island of Alameda”.
