How the Vision Reflects Alameda Residents' Input


            The Envisioning Alameda Point Survey affirms the statement in the original Alameda Point Vision that buses, ferries and streetcars are key to reducing traffic at Alameda Point, as 91.07% agreed with the statement that “public transportation (buses, ferries, rail, etc) should be used as a major mitigation for Alameda Point”. Also confirmed by the survey was that the entire island of Alameda should benefit from transportation solutions offered at Alameda Point; 94.37% of the Alamedans surveyed agreed that transportation solutions should benefit all Alameda residents and workers, not just future residents and workers at Alameda Point.

            Added to the new vision is that buses stops should have adequate shelters built. In the Visual Preference Survey, 61% said that this type of bus stop should definitely be built at Alameda Point:
